By The Book

i had just finished helping my mum mop the floor, sweep the floor, wash toilet, wash clothes and boil water till i settle down to read Reader's Digest-June 2005 edition.
there's one short article that touched my heart which i wanna share with u guys here.
"WHY DON'T they have a home?" four-year-old Michael "Junior" Chan asked his mother Jennifer Yap after dropping off some presents at a shelter for underpriviledged kids in Kuala Lumpur during Chinese New year in 2002. She explained that not everyone was as lucky as he was.
Taking this in, Junior announced he wanted to do something to help the kids.
"What will you do?" his mother asked.
"I'll write a book and we can sell it and give them the money," Junior replied. And that's exactly what the preschooler did.
Junior began by drawing pictures and dictating the stories to his mother. Then, as he learned more words, he started writing the stories on his own, Within three months he had a series of short stories about himseld and the world around him.
After visiting an exhibition about cancer, for instance, Junior wrote and illustrated "How a Poor Boy Died". Other stories included fun recollections of finding a grasshopper with his bestfriend and visiting his aunt's home in Tasmania,Australia.
Eager to encouraged their son, Junior's parents, who both work in advertising industry, used their contacts to have 2000 copies of Junior's Short Stories, a collection of seven of his tales, printed professionally. Over the next yearthey sold the 32 page book to their network of friends and colleagues for $2.50 each. The Malaysian branch of Abbott Laboratories, a company that produces Junior's favourite brand of milk, matched book sales dollar-for-dollar. In all, the family raised $5262 for UNICEF Malaysia and a local children's home. Junior and his parents are noe planning a second instalment to raise even more funds.
"I want this money to help children who have nothing compared to myself", Junior says.

i told myself since a 4 year old boy knows what to do to help the poor ones, but why sum of us expect miracle to happen wen we did not work out on it to achieve it? sum will be daydreaming saying " i want tis i want tat " but in the end did not put the effort to work on it.
unlike Junior, he will take his own words and start working on it. like what he says, he wanna help those that have nothing compared to himself.
sum of u might be saying " aiyah he's just a kid oni. moreover he don have to worry bout the expences to publish the book etc ".
well, i personally don't agree with it becos, at his age, he manage to come out with tis idea jus to help those that are not in good shape. at least he has this idea, bear that in mind.
sum people jus lazing around doing nothing and hoping for miracle. if there's so much of miracle, why dont spare me one then? i oni believe God help those that help themselves. there's not much point if u keep on praying but u urself didnt put the best foot for it.
so pls stop 'angan angan tahi ayam'. wake up~!
