Farewell

I have this senior colleague, which resigned few days back. He’s just like a ‘teacher’ to us. Whenever he wants to inform us something, he’ll say “ My fellow students, bla bla bla “

He’s the first person to approach me with a friendly smile when I first got into this company. Then he’ll chat with me to make sure I’m comfortable with the new big environment.

And the best part is we’re actually from the category ‘kakinang’. When he asked me “ You’re Hokkien, Cantonese or what ar? “

“I’m a Teochew”.

“Hei! We’re actually kakinang! “, he replied.

Calling for another colleague, Steve, he said “ Steve, we have another ‘kakinang’ here”.

It’s kinda hard to get Teochew family as far as I know. So he’s just like a papa to me in office.

He knows I’m a Malaccan, and he loves to travel to Malacca. as a matter of fact he always talks about how good Malacca is, the nice historical buildings, the cheap and nice food which we can’t find it here. Awwwwww, makes me miss Malacca so much now >_<

Knowing that he loves Malacca so much and whenever he visit Malacca he’ll got lost, I took the initiative to get him new Malacca maps with numerous of Malacca hotels to choose. He’s very happy about it and thank me.

His cellphone ringtone catches ppl’s attention. But to some, it was irritating. Remember the "Carrie Junior" powder advertisement? The classic advertisement, with this pink baby elephant leading few kids behind and walking along with the baby elephant. That's his ringtone.

When he tender he resignation letter due to some personal issues, the office starts to get gloomy. Everybody was so speechless that they donot know what to say.

So, when his last day of employment getting nearer, my Team Manager decided to get him a farewell present and each of us need to fork out a small amount, with fullest SINCERITY and not by FORCE.

At his very last working day with us, he treated all of us lunch. Before he left the company, he came to each of us and says some nice meaningful advices since he’s a very senior here.

So now, in this office, the environment was different, there’s no “Hei kakinang!” or “My gentle students…I wanna inform bout bla bla bla” or the sound of his cellphone ringtone.

Adios KK.Tan!!! When you drop by at Malacca, do think of me - the talkative girl....

a colleague of mine borrowed me this book last Saturday and I finally finished reading it. a TRUE story.

David J. Pelzer's mother, Catherine Roerva, was, he writes in this ghastly, fascinating memoir, a devoted den mother to the Cub Scouts in her care, and somewhat nurturant to her children--but not to David, whom she referred to as "an It."

This book is a brief, horrifying account of the bizarre tortures she inflicted on him, told from the point of view of the author as a young boy being starved, stabbed, smashed face-first into mirrors, forced to eat the contents of his sibling's diapers and a spoonful of ammonia, and burned over a gas stove by a maniacal, alcoholic mom.

Sometimes she claimed he had violated some rule--no walking on the grass at school!--but mostly it was pure sadism. Inexplicably, his father didn't protect him; only an alert schoolteacher saved David. One wants to learn more about his ordeal and its aftermath, and now he's written a sequel, The Lost Boy, detailing his life in the foster-care system.

Though it's a grim story, A Child Called "It" is very much in the tradition of Chicken Soup for the Couple's Soul and the many books in that upbeat series, whose author Pelzer thanks for helping get his book going. It's all about weathering adversity to find love, and Pelzer is an expert witness.

wake up at 7++am ... get ready to work ... start working from 9am to 530pm. but tat doesnt mean u can leave at 530pm at times. the earliest make it 6pm. reach home ... finish up dinner roughly 7++pm ... there goes another half day. but ... tat doesnt mean i can have a few hours of resting ... still i need to do housework wic at times ended at 9++pm. and tats d time im mentally and physically tired ...

how i wish i can hire a maid ... im SO SO SO tired !!!

its 8.25am now and im in the office feeling SLEEPY ! monday bluezzzz.....and its so freaking cold here, blame it on the centralized air-cond. >_<

mega sales is around the corner ... so wat we're waiting for? its SHOPPING time! how i wish Sharon is around with me, we can do crazy shopping for hours. she was expecting me to go bek hometown this week since she will be around. moreover, she says its a special function next week. i wanted to go bek desperately but too bad, i have no choice but to stay here till early next month * sob sob *

its been quite sumtime since my mum cook

giant pot of old cucumber soup wic now oni left 1/4 ( oni afta lunch ) , fresh veggies etc

how i wish i can eat my mum's cooking everyday ... i really do wish ...

anyway, my mum cooked us one big pot of white radish soup yesterday. my most favourite soup !!!

and we finished up on tat day itself before dinner !! =.=

i told my mum she shud cooked at least 2 big pots of tat soup !!!

and she says she's goin to cook old cucumber soup tis coming sunday. Yay !! another favourite soup of mine !!!

so tat nite itself, we went to Secret Recipe for dinner ( as promised ). total damage was RM124.15. look at how big eater my family is .... but it was nice to treat my family once in a while ... teheheeh ..

time passes by very fast .. its Saturday and i'll be leaving again the next day ... sigh ...

its oni a 2hours drive la for goodness sake , i always remind myself tat ...

i guess Lou Yuet is giving her sum hint ady ... LoL...

last week ( 8 July 2006 ) , i received a good news from Sharon saying tat she's coming over to KL to look for me!! weeeee~!!!

and the best part is, she's staying for 2 nights !!! yay ~!!! damn miss tis girl...

we met up for dinner at Jalan Alor wif few of her frens [ hensom hensom belaka =)~ ]

den left around 10++. reached home around 11pm. since sayang meeting eugene for gaming session and wont be bek till the next morning, we had the room for ourselves. heheheh....

we chatted bout tis and tat wic lasted till 3++am and finally doze off to wonderland.

the next day, i wanted to bring her to one of the nicest Dimsum at Uptown, but time doesnt allow us to do so ... so we decided to head over to 1Utama for shopping meanwhile sayang take his nap at home.

we need to get sumthing for Soo Yin's bday present and Master's convo gift.

earlier, Sharon show me one of her bday gift from her fren ... Chymara Eau De Toilette from The Body Shop. smells nice and we decided to get tat for Soo Yin's bday gift and another soft toy for her convo instead.

KFC was right beside Body Shop. we settle down at KFC 1st for lunch. when i was about to order, Sharon came to me n say "Wei, u order and find a place to sit first. i'll go get the stuff from Body Shop".

"Wei! wait for me lar!". but too late, she dump me aside >_<

minutes later, she came bek wif a smiling face but me wif a grumpy face ( freak her a bit ).

she took sumthing from the Body Shop plastic bag and pass me sumthing saying its my advanced bday gift.

=.= tis girl... no wonder she walks off without me lar...

at 1st i hesitate to accept the gift bcoz i nv expect her to get me sumthing wic is quite expensive. after her debate and toking non-stop, i give up and accept the gift.

Sharon always come out the food expences for me bek at Malacca. so i told myself to treat her to Swenson ( she's an ice-cream lover ) tis time. but we donot have much time ... sigh ... next time, there will be next time...and it definitely will happen !

wen we're on our way to pay the car tickets, we heard tis familiar guy voice toking on d mic. and guess who is it?

so, me and sayang took leave today ( wic is Friday ) and shoot bek to KL afta work ( Thursday )

before that, we stop by at SS2 to had our dinner and drop by at Angel Cake House ( one of the famous cake house at KL ) wic is at SS2 as well. bought a lovely cake for my mum....her bday today ( Friday ) ...hehehe...

yesterday i pakat wif my sisters telling them not to inform my mum im coming bek today.

mum wont be around till 11pm. we reached Mlk around 9++ den rest a while. by the time my mum got bek, we quikly took the cake out of fridge and i hide inside my sister's room with the cake.

mum took her shower and afta shower, my sisters force her not to sleep 1st and have a short conversation till the clock ticks at 12am. poor me, have to hide inside the room.

before that, i even hide my bags, shoes and dirty clothes. but i forgot one thing....my wet towel...

tot my mum wont realise, but unfortunately my mum notice my towel was hung in a different place and wet as well. she's too alert ady ...

so my mum ask my sisters who used my towel and there were 5 seconds of silent. den my youngest sister; Karen answer, " Oh! i ter-use lar".

"Haiya, tomolo ur er jie coming bek ler....nvm la, i'll wash it. anyway ur er jie will be coming bek 2ml rite?".

i wanted to burst out laffing but i cudnt cos im still hiding in the room and the clock havent show 12 am as well.

5 minutes to 12am, i started to light up the candles. Amy took the cake out from the room while i slowly walk behind her. they started singing bday song and my mum start smiling as well.

den i suddenly pop out and say " HI MUM!!! " and my mum got a shock and asked " How come you are here?????!!! ". her eyes grow big and her mouth terbuka nganga. LoL .... u shud see the way my mum reacted, damn farny...

we asked her to make a wish...instead of making wish for herself, she wish tat all of us stay healthy and had a gud career in future ... * awwww * ... she always tink bout us...

i decided to bring her out for dinner at Secret Recipe ... well, she deserve the treat anyway...

My grandmother had been bringing up her kids alone

My eldest aunty too had been bringing up her own kids alone

My mum .... not really facing the same situation like my aunt or grandmother, jus tat she too had sum difficulties wif 'sumone' , wic she had put commitment to 'it', but it vanish afta her single life

My 3rd aunty, single .... not attached

My 4th aunty, I wouldnt say she had a loving husband, jus tat at times her husband too 'ego' and controlling

All of them facing the same problem .... MAN

Italiannies

Italiannies is located on the first floor of the 1Utama new wing and it looks kinda small at the door but upon entering did we realise how cavernous it is. It's a family restaurant with a warm cosy feel, soft lighting & helpful wait staff.

Me & Sayang had dinner at this small cosy restaurant last week ( 23rd June to be specific ).

We ordered Chicken Paramag... sumthing sumthing wic i cant remember the name of the food and Herb Roasted Chicken.
Drinks were Bay Breeze ( wic is a combination of Lime + Apple + etc etc ) and Cafe Latte.

The waitress gave us some bread for starters whereby we were ask to dip the freshly baked bread with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar.

Here comes our food !!!!
